At Studieassistenten, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we handle your data and use cookies.

Data We Collect

We collect the information needed to provide the service: your email address, name (optional), uploaded documents, and the text extracted from them. To generate study materials your content is processed by external providers: extracted text is sent to AI providers (Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini and OpenAI), uploaded images to Azure Computer Vision for text recognition (OCR), and recorded audio to Deepgram for speech-to-text. These providers act as data processors and may process data outside the EU/EEA, safeguarded by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Per these providers' terms, your data is not used to train their models. Uploaded files and study materials are stored securely and are deleted when you remove them or delete your account. The service is intended for users aged 13 or older; if you are younger, a guardian's consent is required. Child accounts are created by a guardian who consents to the processing on the child's behalf. For child accounts, the guardian can choose the language the child practises vocabulary from. It is used only to decide which way vocabulary practice starts, and is shown only within the family.

Tests created from other systems

A guardian can connect another system, for example a service that collects homework from the school's learning platform, so that tests are created automatically for a child in the family. The connection is set up for the guardian's account and uses a key that only applies to that account. From the system we receive the homework's title, subject and date, the teacher's homework text and any vocabulary. The child is identified by their id in Studieassistenten, never by name. The tests are owned by the guardian, shared with the child and handled like any other study material, including when you choose to generate content with AI. You can delete such a test at any time, and contact us to disconnect the system. The system can also let the child photograph the homework in its own app. The photos are sent directly to us for text recognition, only to tests shared with the child and at most ten per test. When a photo is received we remove location and other information about the picture and store it at no more than 2000 pixels. A photo whose text we can read becomes study material on the test. A photo we cannot read is shown to the guardian and removed automatically after 30 days.
